The report stated
that schools grounds/community projects can be of benefit by:
- Having the
capacity to link with most curriculum areas, particularly science process
skills and design and technology
- Learning in
schools grounds leads to greater pupil confidence, renewed pride in community,
stronger motivation toward learning and greater sense of belonging and
responsibility
- The process of
schools ground improvement can result in more positive relations between
students, with their teachers and with the wider community
- Providing evidence
of improved physical wellbeing through better quality play and increased
motivation to eat more healthily and take more exercise
